Come and learn to make silver jewellery & create your own designs
On this 6 week beginners jewellery course, you will learn the traditional techniques for designing and creating your own jewellery pieces. Working in a small group led by contemporary jewellers Jo Butler or Louise Seijen Ten Hoorn, you will be given expert tutor guidance as you learn how to create your own silver ring with a cabochon set stone.
The beginners class will introduce you to the following jewellery making techniques: sawing, soldering, filing, piercing, annealing, creating a silver ring, creating a cabochon stone setting, polishing, adding texture to metal, using rolling mills.
You’ll also receive plenty of advice about where you can purchase your own tools and materials to carry on with silver jewellery making after the class. A great taster class for anyone keen to learn jewellery making!

This 6 week intermediate jewellery course is all about taking your jewellery making skills to the next level as you learn to translate your own personal jewellery designs into 3D jewellery & decide which materials will be required.
In weeks one and two, new jewellery making techniques will be explained and demonstrated by the course tutor, contemporary jewellers Jo Butler or Louise Seijen Ten Hoorn. These techniques include:
doming; riveting; roll printing; piercing (sawing) openwork
The techniques covered on this course can be tailored to the groups’ particular needs and requirements so feel free to suggest things you’d like to cover. There are a limited number of places for this class meaning there’ll be plenty of individual expert tutor guidance to support you as you bring your own designs to life.
